The first time I experiment a curd cheese was in a great poutine... what a flavor, texture.. just perfect! I was 13 years old and I just can't forget the taste. Now I'm 29 yars old and I'm still missing this flavor, I never found any think like those cheese here in Brazil... So, Now I have a farm restaurant here, and I wondering how can I buy those cheese to serve here. Or.. make a joint venture.

I remember eating curds at my Grandfathers cheese factory near Viola in the 1940's. I have been eating curds ever since. My wife also remembers eating curds in the 1930's. My sister travels to Alaska every year and she takes 20 plus pounds with her to give people up there.

A young man came a courting and decided to butter up the date's Mother, me. He asked if I had ever had cheese curds before. I answered that with a no and said that I thought it was just a made up food for the Little Miss Muffett poem. He went on to tell me that yes, they were real and that he would bring some the next time he came to see my daughter. Sure enough, he did bring some curds the very next visit. He explained that some people called it squeaky cheese because if it was fresh curds, they would squeak against the teeth. Thank you, dear son in love! YUMMY!

In 1955, I married and moved to a small northern Wisconsin town. The brothers joined my hubby and me and we went to a great beer bar up near the Michigan border where there were at least 30 animal heads hanging on the wall and 2 taxidermied muskies behind the bar. Cheese curds appeared casual-like, and like a fool I tried to eat just one. I fought the brothers and hubby off like a tigress. Drinking 10 cent beer was just a way to be allowed to eat more cheese curds. I got more than enuf beer over time, but I never ever got even one too many cheese curd. On Wisconsin!

When I was young we would go to Owen, Wisc. to my Grandfather's ranch. The creamery was close so we always stopped. I work at a rental store that sends trailers to schools in Wisc., I ask all of them to bring back curds. Two weeks ago I got curds from the place in Owen that I haven`t been to in 40 years. Such great memories!!! LOVE THE CURDS!!!!!

I am a died in the wool curdasian..........all curd experiences run together in a beautiful cheese haze,
EXCEPT the last. You will not believe that on our last quick trip to Wis., we most mistakenly stopped at a cheese casa and asked for cheese curds and they had NONE. What was even worse was they said, "Oh, no," in a way that implied that cheese curds were not something to be treasured but scorned. I was devastated..............................

I used to live in Wisconsin and have many memories of my favorite food...cheese curds! However, my favorite story is as follows: I was in Las Vegas with my sister and brother in law and we are in a hotel room chit chatting with fellow clients and co-workers of my brother-in-laws and one of the snacks were cheese curds. I sat in the same set for hours eating cheese curds and listening to the squeek. After I had finished every last one, I wanted more....I can never get sick of them!

The first time I ate a cheese curd was when I went to Wisconsin to visit my friend Tiffany, we went to the Rudolph Cheese Factory in Wisconsin Rapids. They were AMAZING!! It was a 12hr drive for me to get to taste them but they were well worth it!
